Tanzutsu ou Bajozutsu, Deluxe Edition
Tanzutsu or Bajozutsu 1/3 scale, choice .157 (4 mm) or .177 (4,5 mm) cal. Barrel in steel 4130 or equivalent, stock in precious wood (5 species at choice) with inlay on the handle (option). Delivered with a wooden stand matching powder flask in option.
Non-contractual photos, different models are available on simple photo or plan chosen by the customer. The Tanzutsu is the short version, the Bajozutsu was closer to a Teppo in size and length. It was generally used by samurais on horseback and cavalry. The starting price 2000 € is for a Tanzutsu with a cylindrical conical barrel (or octagonal-conical barrel) and a flared octagonal muzzle without decorations (photos). The handle can receive 3 circular brass inlays (2 lateral and 1 upper) in option 200€. The mechanism parts are made of carbon steel, brass and beryllium copper depending on the model chosen. The wood species are either ebony, cocobolo, bocote or centennial French walnut. The cocobolo and bocote wood colors in the pictures are in a young state. As they age, these woods darken and take on a beautiful patina. The Tanzutsu comes with a wooden stand in matching wood species. The matching functional powder flask is optional at 200€.
Many options and customizations are possible. The barrel as well as the different parts can be decorated. The barrel can be inlaid with fine gold or vermeil. AAM does not master this technique. This work is subcontracted to the best workers in France in this art, the cost is high. Many of these arms have been inlaid with engraved plates and inlaid brass wire. These decorations are only possible on estimate (quotation). Depending on the complexity and the number of patterns to be realized the extra cost can be relatively important.
